"The reality of today's health challenges and a more complex health care system has increased the need for higher levels of education in nursing,"said Dr. Laura Sliwinski, executive dean of the College of Health, Human Services, and Science. "In line with the Institute of Medicine's goal to increase the number of registered nurses with a bachelor's degree to 80 percent by 2020 and our college's mission to develop responsible and effective leaders in their chosen professions, this is an incredible opportunity for registered nurses who are looking for an edge in their career."

With the expansion, eligible applicants receive a reduced tuition cost of $250 per credit for all undergraduate courses, as well as waivers for all technology fees and required learning course materials throughout the duration of their studies towards the RN to BSN degree.

The grant will be available to new students who begin the RN to BSN program on or before December 31, 2017. The RN to BSN Grant may not be combined with any other Ashford grants, scholarships, or discounts.
