SAN DIEGO, Nov. 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Forbes School of Business & Technology™ at Ashford University has launched a new Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM) degree program. The online program is designed to equip students with the problem-solving skills, data-driven decision-making, and strategic management skills needed in today's rapidly changing business environment. Students will be prepared to address the social, ethical, legal, and economic issues facing virtual, domestic, and internationally focused organizations and provide strategic leadership in the core areas of human resource management. The degree program is currently accepting students.
Designed with national standards in mind, the MHRM degree uses well-defined human resource curriculum content and competencies identified by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). The curriculum focuses on critical content areas, including change management, employee and labor relations, legal and ethical issues, compensation and benefits, training and development, workforce planning and talent management, organizational development, human resource information systems, and globalization. Students may also be eligible to apply for the SHRM-CP certification, which is recognized as the gold standard in human resource management. 1
"The new MHRM program represents what the industry expects from graduating students as its content and learning objectives were designed by practitioner faculty in conjunction with industry professionals," said Dr. Ray Powers, Associate Dean of the Forbes School of Business & Technology. "Students in the program will gain an integrated perspective of academic theory and its practical application in all aspects of human resources. The program has an external advisory council comprised of industry experts who assist in validating curriculum and recommend enhancements."
Students graduating from the program will be qualified for employment in such roles as Benefits Coordinator, Analyst, Specialist, or Manager; Compensation and Benefits Manager; Compensation Director; Human Resources Specialist, Manager, or Director; Training and Development Coordinator, Specialist, or Manager; and Labor Relations Specialist.
