Ashford University Launches New Bachelor's Degree in Human Services Leadership
Degree program is aligned with Council for Standards in Human Service Education national standards and includes a unique service learning component

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Ashford University has launched a new Bachelor of Science in Human Services Leadership (BSHSL) degree program. The online program is designed to prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to successfully lead human service organizations in a rapidly changing and challenging environment. The program will build on students' existing skills and interests in the social services to further develop their capacity to design and lead organizational approaches for the prevention and resolution of problems facing vulnerable populations in our society.

The major coursework in the program is aligned with the national standards for human service education outlined by the Council for Standards in Human Service Education (CSHSE) and the human services management competencies established by the Network for Social Work Management. The primary objective of the program is to prepare human services professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote effective service delivery and program management with increased attention to planning and governance.

Students graduating from the program will be qualified for employment in such roles as Community Coordinator, Human Services Program Specialist, Outreach Specialist, Adoption Services Manager, Program Manager, Program Director, Probation Officer, Parole Officer, and Children's Service Supervisor.
