SAN DIEGO, Feb. 18, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Ashford University announced today that the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), serving as the California State Approving Agency, has approved Ashford University's application for continued eligibility to administer veterans education benefits.
"For more than a decade Ashford University has proudly served student veterans, active-duty military, and their families. We have remained steadfast in our efforts to protect the choice of the more than 3,500 students who utilize their veterans education benefits at Ashford University," shared Dr. Craig Swenson, President. "We are grateful to leaders at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for ensuring student veterans are eligible to access their educational benefits."
In support of our student veterans the university provides grants, waives textbook and technology fees, and does not charge sales tax in applicable states. Ashford is a Yellow Ribbon Program participant and has affirmed its support for the Department of Education's 8 Keys to Veteran Success, the Department of Veteran Affairs Principles of Excellence and the Department of Defense Memorandum of Understanding.
Dr. Swenson indicated that the university will work closely with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to complete the final administrative steps in the approval process including the review of the affected programs and the students currently enrolled.
