Ashford University is looking for alumni who performed in the Concert Choir at Mount St. Clare College, The Franciscan University, The Franciscan University of the Prairies, and Ashford. Their voices are needed for a final alumni reunion choir concert this spring.
“We want our choir alumni to make plans to be part of this special event during the last commencement weekend for Ashford University,” said Dr. Rob Engelson, who has directed the choir at the institution for 21 years. “This alumni choir concert will celebrate the great music of many, many members of the various Concert Choirs over the years.”
Tentative plans are to have a two-and-a-half to three-hour rehearsal on the afternoon of Saturday, May 7, possibly an evening dinner, and a concert on the afternoon of Sunday, May 8.
Last year, Ashford University announced that it would close its Clinton campus at the end of the 2015-2016 academic year. The University’s final commencement ceremony at the Clinton campus is set for Saturday, May 7.
Alumni who are interested in participating should contact Engelson at email@example.com or Jill Mussmann at firstname.lastname@example.org. Singers who have a favorite song they would like the alumni choir to perform should send those requests to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
“This would be a wonderful, heart-warming opportunity to say goodbye to the institution and an ensemble that has meant a lot to all of us. Let’s get together and make some great music one last time,” Engelson said.
