Ashford University Wind Ensemble to Participate in Combined Symphony
Collegiate Wind Symphony concert planned for Mar. 2

The Ashford University Wind Ensemble will participate in the Great River Collegiate Wind Symphony, a collaboration of the bands of Ashford, University of Dubuque, Loras College, Clark College and St. Ambrose University, on Saturday, Mar. 2. This will be the third time Ashford's musicians will be involved in the symphony.

Saturday’s schedule begins with an all-day rehearsal and then a concert at 7 p.m. at the Galvin Center for the Performing Arts at St. Ambrose University, Davenport, IA. During the concert the directors of each band will conduct two pieces.

Included in the program will be “Nobles of the Mystic Shrine,” a march by John Phillip Sousa; “The First Military Suite in Eb,” by Gustav Holst; “Cenotaph,” by Jack Stamp, and highlights from “The Music Man.”

Adjunct instructor of music Steve Little directs the Ashford University Wind Ensemble.
