Ashford University and the San Diego County Taxpayers Association are teaming up to provide three local community college students with an opportunity for a paid internship with the San Diego County Taxpayers Association during the Fall 2015 semester. Interns will gain valuable hands-on experience in the fields of public policy and finance. They will also receive a $1,000 stipend and a $2,500 scholarship to attend Ashford University.
During the internship, students will perform research and in-depth analysis with the direct support of public policy professionals. They will track revenue, expenditures, and debt to provide a fiscal snapshot of all 18 cities in San Diego County. Interns will also gain experience with tasks such as interviewing city staff, submitting Public Records Act requests, and writing reports.
