Students Receive Awards at Ashford University Recognition Event
University celebrates its spring 2013 graduates, presents awards

As the spring semester drew to a close, Ashford University celebrated its May 2013 graduates and presented awards to on campus students during the annual academic and graduate recognition and reception event on April 25.

Recognized during the event were:

Business Scholar’s Award: Lindsay B. Aiello, Sterling, Ill. and Michelle Peixoto Safatle, Clinton, Iowa.                  

Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants (ISCPA) Student Award: Adam VenHuizen, Albany, Ill.

Accounting Commendation Award: Amber LeBlanc, Anchorage, AK; Stephen Nauman, Camanche, Iowa and Breanna VanOosten, Fulton, Ill.

Alex Esquivel Promising Teacher Award: Sarah Elizabeth Roepke, DeWitt, Iowa.

Sister Marilyn Shea Outstanding Dispositions Award: Kristen Elizabeth Friedrich, Port Byron, Ill.

Academic Excellence Psychology: Annie E. Niebuhr, Clinton, Iowa

Academic Excellence Mathematics & Science: Amanda M. Shaw, Clinton, Iowa

Academic Excellence Health Care Administration & Health Science: Erika L. Fisk, Washington, Ill.

James L. Mooney Award: Theresa S. DeReus, Savanna, Ill.

Joan Walsh Richeson Award: Mark A. Hebdon, Sabula, Iowa.

Sister Phyllis Morris Service Learning Award: Makenna Yoerger, Clinton, Iowa.

Also recognized during the event were Ashford’s academic clubs and organizations and participants in the annual research and creative works fair.
