Ashford University has announced a new Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program. The program was created specifically to provide working nurses who possess an associate’s degree or diploma in nursing with the opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree online.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree represents the first online nursing program to be offered at Ashford University. The courses were designed to meet the standards of the nursing industry and prepare students with the knowledge and skills needed to address the health issues confronting the United States. Students in this program will learn about family health, community health, transcultural nursing, aging and health, and the nursing care and management of chronic illness and disability. Graduates will be prepared to be effective patient advocates who provide the highest quality care.

Ashford’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program includes innovative Practice Experiences integrated into selected courses. Students acquire knowledge and skills through Practice Experiences by interacting with healthcare professionals and engaging in rich learning simulations. Students focus on developing and refining interprofessional, leadership, and assessment and intervention skills that are critical to professional success.

A key goal of the program is to provide students with professional role preparation for nursing practice – including positions of leadership and management – within more complex healthcare systems and across a variety of healthcare settings.
