Christina Mahoney Receives Ashford University's AU Gold Standard Award
Quarterly employee award given to Admissions Specialist
CAPTION: Christina Mahoney received Ashford University's AU Gold Standard Award for the second quarter of 2015.

Christina Mahoney, an admissions specialist at Ashford University, received the AU Gold Standard Award earlier this month. Presented on a quarterly basis, the AU Gold Standard Award recognizes a Clinton campus employee who has gone above and beyond for a student, co-worker, or Ashford University as a whole.

Mahoney has worked at Ashford since August 2005, and she worked at Mount St. Clare College from 1998-2001. In addition to her admissions responsibilities, Mahoney is a staff advisor for the University’s Latin American Student Organization and was a chaperone for the University’s service trip to New Orleans in May 2014.

“Christina has been an admissions specialist for many years and yet she continues to maintain a high level of enthusiasm for her position. In this field, that is not something you see often,” Mahoney’s nominator said. “I am nominating Christina because of the level of service she provides all her students, particularly her international students. She truly does go above and beyond to make them feel comfortable when they arrive, and throughout their time here at Ashford. She is passionate about her work with them and it is evident through the connections that she has established. Students frequently stop down to ask for her help, advice, or just to chat.”

Christina and her husband, Dan, have a daughter, Lauren.

Ashford employees and students can submit nominations for the AU Gold Standard Award. The winners are selected by a special committee.
