Ashford University's Clinton, Iowa Campus Graduates Class of 2016
Nearly 200 students graduate during Ashford's final commencement ceremony

In a bittersweet ceremony, nearly 200 members of the “Class of 2016” became the last class to graduate from Ashford University’s Clinton, Iowa campus on Saturday, May 7.

A capacity crowd filled the Durgin Educational Center’s Kehl Arena for the commencement ceremony for students who attended Ashford’s Clinton campus.

The ceremony highlighted a three-day celebration featuring events and activities for students, alumni, former employees and the community.

Dr. Jane McAuliffe, who served as President of Ashford University from 2007-2011, presented the commencement address and Juan Cabrera Sandoval, president of both the Student Government Association and Ashford University Activities Board, gave the student address.

During the ceremony, longtime Ashford professors Diane Cornilsen, Gary Heath, John Ivens, Glen Just, Barb Philibert, David Stedwell and John Zimmerman received "emeritus" or "emerita" status.
