The Forbes School of Business® Distinguished Speaker Series Welcomes Retired Army Lt. Col. Consuelo Castillo Kickbusch
Veteran, author, and motivational speaker inspires with her story of overcoming hardships and helping others succeed

The Forbes School of Business at Ashford University concludes its 2015 Distinguished Speaker Series with a presentation from retired Army Lt. Col. Consuelo Castillo Kickbusch. The event will begin with breakfast and networking at 9:00 a.m. P.S.T. on Tuesday, December 15 at the University Club, located at 750 B Street #3400 in downtown San Diego. Kickbusch’s presentation will follow at 10:00 a.m. P.S.T.

Kickbusch is a renowned, charismatic, passionate, and influential speaker on a mission to empower the next generation of leaders. Throughout her career, Kickbusch has shared her personal knowledge on becoming an effective leader in today’s global marketplace with hundreds of schools, colleges, universities, corporations, and government institutions both in the United States and abroad.

Born and raised in a small barrio in the border town of Laredo, Texas, Kickbusch witnessed firsthand the challenges of poverty, discrimination, and illiteracy. Although Kickbusch grew up without material wealth, her immigrant parents taught her that she was rich in culture, tradition, values, and faith.

After graduating from Hardin-Simmons University, Kickbusch entered the U.S. Army as an officer and served for two decades. During her time in the military, she broke barriers and set records, becoming the highest-ranking Hispanic woman in the Combat Support field of the U.S. Army.

When she was offered a command post in the Army, Kickbusch surprised the military by deciding to retire. She chose to honor her mother’s dying wish by returning to her roots and becoming a community leader. In 1996, Kickbusch founded the human development company Educational Achievement Services, Inc. to prepare tomorrow’s leaders.

The Distinguished Speaker Series is a benefit for the students of the Forbes School of Business at Ashford University. Launched in 2014, the speaker series provides a forum for business experts to share their extensive business knowledge with the Ashford community.
