Ashford University, in partnership with the nationally-recognized DANTES Subject Standard Tests (DSST) program, announced it will open its first ever on-site testing center at its San Diego-Sunroad headquarters located at 8620 Spectrum Center Blvd., San Diego, Ca. 92123. The DSST testing center, scheduled to open July 30, will be available for testing services on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The center will provide DSST prior learning assessments, formerly known as the DANTES test, which is expected to cover more than 30 college subject areas to include social sciences, math, and business.

“Ashford University is excited to offer a new testing service to students and the local community,” said Heather Albin, Ashford University strategy manager for military and veteran services. “Ashford’s DSST testing center will be a good addition to the list of services the University already provides to its students, military service members, and those affiliated with the military.”

For active duty military, some spouses, and some military civilian employees, testing fees will be covered. Veterans interested in the testing service may be eligible for reimbursement of the exam fee from the Veterans Administration.

Approved by the American Council on Education (ACE), the DSST program helps students receive college credits for learning acquired outside the traditional classroom. Learning experiences that may be applied to the DSST exam could include on-the-job training, independent study, and military service. To schedule an appointment, email testingcenter@ashford.edu.
