Ashford University has introduced technology that provides students instant access to their financial aid status. The new Financial Aid Status feature, available to students on their iPhones® and Android® devices via Ashford Mobile, reinforces Ashford’s commitment to developing innovative technologies that enhance the learning experience.

“The financial aid process is complicated and it can intimidate students,” said Matthew Vallejo, vice president of financial aid and services for Ashford University. “The Financial Aid Status feature was designed to simplify the process. If students have questions about their financial aid, they can find answers quickly right on their mobile devices. Students spend less time tracking their financial aid and more time working toward their degrees.”

The main benefit of the Financial Aid Status feature is accessibility. Students who are already using the Ashford Mobile technology to connect to online courses, participate in classroom discussions and contact instructors can now use it to answer many of the most common questions associated with the financial aid process. With the Financial Aid Status feature, students have transparency into the entire financial aid lifecycle. The feature updates in real time to provide notifications at key milestones, such as when award letters are sent out, disbursements are received, and stipends are released. Students are also notified when they need to submit financial aid documents or perform other financial aid related tasks. The Financial Aid Status feature includes detailed explanations of the various stages of the financial aid lifecycle to help students understand the process.

The Financial Aid Status Mobile App is now available to Ashford Mobile app users. It is available on the Ashford website, at the Apple® store and at the Android® Market.
