Theater and music events planned on campus and around Clinton

It will be a fine arts weekend for Ashford University when several campus organizations present a play and two music events Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 and 2.

Earlier Saturday, the Ashford University Wind Ensemble will present its “Concert for Winter” in St. Clare Hall (C3600) at 2 p.m. Included in the concert will be a performance of Sergei Prokofiev's “Peter and the Wolf”' arranged for band by Jim Curnow, with narration by Dr. Curt Lowe, Ashford’s dean of the College of Liberal Arts. As is customary, the band will finish with a surprise selection. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Ashford University Concert Choir wraps up the special weekend when it participates in Clinton’s annual performance of George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah” at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2 at Zion Lutheran Church, 439 Third Avenue South.
