Ashford University Music Groups Plan Holiday Performances
Wind Ensemble and Concert Choir will ring in the holiday season

Two Ashford University music groups will ring in the holiday season with performances during the first weekend of December.

The Ashford University Wind Ensemble will present its winter concert on Saturday, December 5 at 7 p.m. in room C3600 of St. Clare Hall. Directed by Steve Little, the ensemble will present “Peter and the Wolf” with narration; “The Grand Prix March” theme from the 1966 movie of the same name; “Portrait For Clarinet” featuring Ashford senior soloist Talia Rossi; seasonal favorites including “On A Winter's Eve” and “He Is Born”; a woodwind trio by J.S. Bach; “Polonaise” and “The Trombone Rag.” Concluding the concert will be the group’s traditional surprise. The concert is open to the public and admission is free.

On Sunday, December 6, the Ashford University Concert Choir will join other voices in performing Handel’s “Messiah,” one of Clinton’s longest-running Christmas traditions, at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church. Admission to the concert is free, but a free-will offering will be taken to offset expenses incurred by the performance. Dr. Rob Engelson directs Ashford’s choir.
