In recognition of National Volunteer Month, Ashford University has designated April 14, 2012 as “Ashford University Volunteer Day.” Ashford students across the country are being asked to volunteer on that day in a collaborative effort to show the community how much the University’s students care.
Ashford University faculty members and staff will also participate in volunteer activities in Clinton, Iowa; San Diego, CA and Denver, CO.
“In Clinton, since April 14 is just two weeks before our spring graduation weekend, Ashford employees and students will be picking up trash around the community, focusing on the Bluff and South campus areas,” said Kelly Franklin, academic operations specialist who is helping coordinate the local effort. “Once again, graduates and their friends and family members will travel to Clinton for graduation festivities that are planned for the weekend of April 28-29. We want to welcome them to a clean Clinton.”
Franklin says that all students, staff, faculty and their families are invited to begin the day by participating in a volunteer meeting at 9 a.m. in St. Francis Gym.
