Damen Lopez, founder of TurnAround Schools, will speak to Ashford University students via internet streaming and in person at the student cafeteria on Monday, April 30 from 8-9:00 a.m. Central Standard Time. Lopez’s appearance will be the first in a series of quarterly presentations from influential educators to Ashford students and faculty.
Lopez will discuss the six exceptional systems that have revolutionized how schools transform learning for all students, especially students who grow up in poverty. He founded TurnAround Schools on the following two principles: that every child has the right to be prepared to attend college; and it is the responsibility of adults in the school to develop exceptional systems that make that dream a reality.
