The SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society has admitted a large class of Ashford University’s military students for their Winter 2012 induction cycle. Upon passing the review process, more than 1,000 of Ashford’s military students, both currently serving and retired, were selected for membership in this military-only honor society. 

“Assisting our successful student soldiers, marines, sailors, airmen and coasties in earning their SALUTE membership is an exercise in gratitude,” stated Joe Allen, director of Student Affairs at Ashford University. “Ashford University applauds their sacrifice by supporting their return-adjustment, their education, and all the accolades they see fit to earn.”

Charter members of Ashford’s SALUTE chapter review each student application. Admission to this honor society is by invitation only and is restricted to military students who are currently serving or were honorably discharged and maintain good grades while adhering to high ethical standards. 

Thousands of Ashford students travelled to the University’s Clinton, Iowa campus – where they were joined by members of SALUTE – for graduation ceremonies April 28 and 29. Readily identified by SALUTE’s interwoven red, white and blue honors cords, SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society inductees graduated alongside fellow students at Ashford University’s South Campus Athletic Complex.
