Ashford Mobile Classroom App for Smartphones and Mobile Devices Updated with Improved Functionality and Services

Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI) and its Products team have just completed the launch of comprehensive updates for the Ashford Mobile app. Version 2.2 for Apple® and Android®-powered mobile devices and smartphones is now available to students and faculty of Ashford University, providing them improved online classroom functionality, increased student service options, a new “just-in-time” course interface based on current weekly activity, and quicker feature access.

Bridgepoint originally created Ashford Mobile to provide the students and faculty of Ashford University, an academic institution owned by Bridgepoint, with essential online course interaction. The app enables portable mobile devices using Android® or Mac OS® to serve as a conduit between learners and their education, connecting them with their instructors and the University itself. 

“Mobile technology has become a great educational enabler,” said Elizabeth Aguiar, Bridgepoint Education’s vice president of Business Development and Product Marketing. “The Ashford Mobile app provides students and instructors instant coursework connectivity, improved online classroom presence, and a host of additional functionality that expands the learning experience.”

Included in the suite of features built into the updated Ashford Mobile classroom app are improvements to discussion navigation, course-view selection, the digital student I.D. (DSID) and the Help Center. These features join innovative new student ledger card access and the “just-in-time” page views in an upgraded Ashford Mobile interface, being rolled out to reflect the University’s new branding. In keeping with this app’s reputation for stability, Version 2.2 has been tested extensively.

Ashford Mobile is a free upload for students and faculty of the University, and almost 50,000 Ashford students have uploaded. The updated version of the Ashford Mobile app is available via Ashford.edu, as well as through the Apple® store (apple.com/ipad/from-the-app-store/) and Android’s® Market (market.android.com/).
