Several Ashford University students received “ADDY Awards” on Thursday, Feb. 25 for their advertising and marketing works during the Quad Cities Advertising Federation’s ADDY Awards Show 2010.
“MaddyMen,” paying homage to the television show “Mad Men,” was the theme of this year’s Addy Awards and the competition drew more than 175 entries from students and professionals. The awards ceremony was held at Jumer's Casino & Hotel, Rock Island.
“Each year the American Advertising Federation sponsors the ADDY awards, the industry’s largest and most representative competition. The Quad City Advertising Federation hosts the local ADDY competition with a portion of the competition reserved for college students,” said Dr. Charlie Minnick, dean of Ashford University’s College of Business and Professional Studies. “The awards for this portion recognize and reward creative excellence by students and we are proud that several Ashford students were among the winners in the competition. I also want to acknowledge our fabulous computer graphics and art faculty for guiding, instructing, and mentoring our students. Our students work is a direct reflection of our faculty’s commitment to the students’ success.”
Ashford University students receiving ADDY Awards were:
Gold: Travis Clark, John Flyr, Bridget Gabbard (two gold awards) and Amy Gillespie;
Silver: Travis Clark, Bridget Gabbard (two silver awards) and Amy Gillespie (two silver awards);
