More than 30 businesses are planning to participate in the free Ashford University Career Fair on Thursday, April 8.

“Has the downturn in the economy affected your job? Are you ready to advance your career or do you just want to explore new employment opportunities?” asked Stacy Powers, career development and activities coordinator at Ashford University. “Career fairs are great places to learn about job openings, career changes, resources and networking. Considering the challenges we are all facing due to the economy; we hope that all members of the community will come and take advantage of this great opportunity here at Ashford.”

The career event will be held from 1-6 p.m. in Ashford’s Durgin Educational Center, 400 N. Bluff Blvd., Clinton, Iowa. Non-profit agencies and for profit businesses will have employment information booths at the fair and refreshments will be served.

The following organizations are planning to participate: Alverno, Aflac, American Red Cross, Anytime Fitness, ASAC/New Directions, Ashford University ASPIRE, Ashford University Employment, Ashford University Campus, Bridgeview Community Mental Health Care, Citizens First Bank, Clinton Herald, Clinton Humane Society, Clinton Police Department, Clinton Schools, Community Care, Inc., Custom-Pak, Information Referral Services, Kaplan University, KCLN, Kwik Trip, Lia Sophia, Manpower Staffing, Mercy Medical Center, Northwestern Mutual, Palmer College of Chiropractic, Skyline Center, St. Ambrose University, Thrivent Financial Services, United Way of Clinton County, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Marines, Waddell and Reed and Western Illinois University.
