Future scientists, engineers and creative dreamers will showcase their projects during the Ashford University Science Fair on Saturday, April 24.
The science fair, sponsored by the Ashford University Mu Sigma Eta organization, will be held in the St. Francis Gymnasium, 400 N. Bluff Blvd., with doors opening to the public at 10 a.m.
According to Dr. Sarah Gall, advisor to Mu Sigma Eta, area third through eighth graders have been invited to show their science knowledge by creating a science project and displaying it at the science fair. Projects can be new or those students have previously used in a class or another science fair.
Prizes will be awarded to the top entries in two divisions – grades 3-5 and grades 6-8. All entries will receive a certificate of participation.
Participants will set up their projects from 9-10 a.m. At 10 a.m. the doors will open and judging will begin. An awards ceremony will be held at 11 a.m.
Mu Sigma Eta is a society of honor students from the fields of biology, chemistry and mathematics. The organization promotes the scientific development of the members. Admission is by faculty invitation.
