Ashford University, a Bridgepoint Education academic institution, has just introduced a degree designed to connect the functions of mainstream economic enrichment with the ecological sensitivity necessary to conduct a more balanced way of doing business: the Bachelor of Arts in Sustainable Enterprise Management.
According to Ashford University’s Dr. Michael Reilly, executive dean of the College of Business and Professional Studies, sustainable business and management career opportunities are extensive and growing. This ongoing increase led university academics to create the Sustainable Enterprise degree, built to bridge the gap between a sensitive footprint and effective business. Despite the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics only beginning to track the evolution of this market (bls.gov/green/#carinfo), Dr. Reilly adds that many labor economists are predicting better than average development of the marketplace through 2018.
“Ashford University’s bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Enterprise Management equips the leaders of tomorrow with environmentally friendly business practices appropriate to create a secure and reliable business future,” furthered Dr. Reilly. “Such management skills will become more mission critical when resources become even more scarce than they are today.”
The bachelor’s of Sustainable Enterprise Management is the intersection of a desire for success in the American workplace and the personal urge to work within the confines of current green thinking. This unique crisscross of agendas – complete with theory, science and analysis – enables students to satisfy a variety of career intentions: supporting small businesses seeking a greener business plan, enhancing large companies’ efforts to display a greater sense of environmental conscience, and delivering environmental solutions to corporate America.
Ashford University’s Bachelor of Arts in Sustainable Enterprise Management is currently available online and at the Clinton, Iowa, campus, taught by the seasoned business professionals in Ashford’s College of Business and Professional Studies. This degree does not lead to licensure or certification of any kind.
