Ashford University’s float in the annual Clinton Mardi Gras parade received the “People’s Choice Award,” winning $100 for its creators.   

Titled “Halloween is for Kids of All Ages,” the float featured Ashford’s mascot “Champ” dressed as a pirate, a red Power Ranger, and a witch playing in the Ashford Fun House.  Other Ashford employees, friends and family members dressed in Halloween costumes and walked alongside the float, distributing candy and treats to children along the parade route on October 25. 

The Clinton Herald newspaper said, “One comment received read that he/she voted for them because they looked like they were having so much fun too.” 

Ashford University employees and family members helped create the float for the annual parade that coincides with Halloween.
