Ashford University has announced the addition of a new online program: the Bachelor of Arts in Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
The Ashford University Bachelor of Arts in Homeland Security and Emergency Management was developed to provide students with a broad view of homeland security and emergency management at the federal, state and local levels. This program will address counter-terrorism, emergency planning for natural disasters, terrorism response, and research and analysis. It will also offer an interdisciplinary foundation of courses including ethics, international relations, and cyber crime, with a strong emphasis on American Government and the United States Constitution.
“In consideration of recent U.S. history, no program by this University could be more important to the safety of our country than our new Homeland Security and Emergency Management degree,” said Dr. Michael Reilly, program director for the College of Business and Professional Studies at Ashford University.
According to Dr. Curt Lowe, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Ashford University, “We are proud to once again be on the cutting edge of new program development by adding the Homeland Security and Emergency Management B.A. to our already diverse academic offerings. The degree is designed to address the delicate balance of social, economic, ethnic, political, religious and cultural differences which can challenge the security of our nation in today’s world.”
The Bachelor of Arts in Homeland Security and Emergency Management will prepare students for careers in homeland security, border patrol, public and private security, counter terrorism, and emergency management.
