The sounds of the season will fill Ashford University as its Wind Ensemble presents a winter concert on Tuesday, Dec. 8 in Room A342 (the former Chapel) of St. Clare Hall. Seasonal favorites will be featured, along with a variety of other great musical offerings.
The Ensemble will feature freshman trumpeter, Joseph Snyder, in the Leroy Anderson classic “A Trumpeter's Lullaby.” The group will also perform one of the most challenging pieces in classical music, Felix Mendelssohn's “Hebrides Overture” which is also known as “Fingal's Cave,” composed in 1829 after Mendelssohn's visit to northern Scotland.
The Ashford University Wind Ensemble, comprised of AU students, faculty and staff, as well as members of several area communities in both Iowa and Illinois, is directed by Steve Little.
