The area’s young scientists will showcase their knowledge by creating projects and displaying them at Ashford University’s second annual Science Fair on Saturday, March 26.

The science fair, sponsored by the Ashford University Mu Sigma Eta organization, will be held in the St. Francis Gymnasium, 400 N. Bluff Blvd., with doors opening to the public at 10 a.m. 

According to Dr. Sarah Gall, advisor to Mu Sigma Eta, area third through eighth graders have been invited to participate in the science fair. Projects may be newly created or ones that students have previously used in a class or another science fair.

Prizes will be awarded to the top entries in two divisions – grades 3-5 and grades 6-8. All entries will receive a certificate of participation.

Participants will set up their projects from 9-10 a.m. At 10 a.m. the doors will open and judging begins. An awards ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m.

Mu Sigma Eta is a society of honor students from the fields of biology, chemistry and mathematics. This organization promotes the scientific development of the members. Admission is by faculty invitation.
