In the coming weeks, two Ashford University groups will sponsor separate events to raise funds for two community organizations.
The first is on Friday, March 25 – a Trivia Night and Bake Sale, sponsored by the Ashford Future Leaders Program to benefit the Clinton Education Foundation. To be held in St. Francis Gym on the Ashford University campus, the doors to the event will open at 6:30 p.m., with the trivia game beginning at 7 p.m. Teams of 4-8 people will compete at a cost of $10 per person. Participants may bring their own snacks, soft drinks and table setting items. No alcohol will be allowed, but water and soft drinks will be available for sale. For additional information or to register in advance, please email trivianight@ashford.edu.
A week later, on Friday, April 1, the Ashford Student Government Association is holding its first Dance-a-thon to benefit the 68-year-old Mount St. Clare Speech and Hearing Center, located in Regis Hall on the Ashford University campus. The 12-hour event begins at 6 p.m. in Kehl Arena and will involve dancing, games, activities, performances and programs. Dancers will be required to be on their feet for the entire 12 hours as a symbol of the hardship people with disabilities face every day. Students, staff and faculty members have been invited to participate in the event. For more information on the Dance-a-thon or to make a pledge, please contact Stacy Powers, Student Development and Activities Coordinator, at 563.242.4023, ext. 7380.
