CLINTON, Iowa, April 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Ashford University has promoted Dr. Rebecca Wardlow to the post of Provost.

Dr. Wardlow has been with Ashford University, a Bridgepoint Education academic institution, since 2008. Her career with Ashford began as a Program Director and Professor of Education before she was promoted to the position of Executive Dean, where she managed various levels of faculty and curriculum throughout the College of Education. Now on the university president's staff as Provost, Dr. Wardlow will be responsible for Ashford's academic plan, including new programs, accreditation and assessment, the academic mission and the overall academic experience for students.

Prior to Dr. Wardlow's arrival at Ashford University, her experience in education included roles as a Teacher, Assistant Principal and Principal of three different schools. She earned her bachelor's in Psychology at San Diego State University, a master's in Education Administration at the University of California, Riverside, and her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of California, San Diego.
