Ashford, Price of Peace to Present 'Cinderella'

Ashford University and Prince of Peace Catholic Academy and College Preparatory will team up to present the classic fairy tale “Cinderella” Friday and Saturday, March 24 and 25.

This is Rodgers and Hammerstein’s version of the musical which tells the story of a girl that has to serve her stepmother and stepsisters until an unexpected intervention by a prince changes her life forever. Rob Engelson, Chair of Ashford’s Music Department, said, “This is a delightful show and has some wonderful tunes in it.”

Michael Oberfield from Clinton is directing the musical. In the past he has worked on several shows at the Clinton Showboat Theater and at Circa 21 in the Quad-Cities. Josh Morgan, a senior at Ashford, is the student director.

Other Ashford students involved in the production include Kelsey Anderson, Valerie Boles, Colin Craig, Marcy Doyle, Jackie Ehlers, Eddie Keiller, Lance Parrish, Charles Smith, Jeremy Stump and Annie Vroman.

Involved students from Prince of Peace are Marissa Decker, Emily Dodd, Peter Foster, Kristin Helle, Sean Jankowski, Megan Leslie, Chris Outzen, Megan Peters and Jacki Pranger,
