Ashford University's April 29, 2012 Graduation Ceremony To Go On As Planned
Saturday graduates invited to walk in Sunday ceremony

Ashford University’s graduation ceremony scheduled for Sunday, April 29, 2012 will go on as planned. Internationally acclaimed motivational poet Sekou Andrews will give the keynote address at the ceremony set to begin at 11 a.m. at Ashford University’s South Campus Athletic Complex, 1650 S. 14th St., Clinton.

Severe weather in Clinton, Iowa disrupted the Saturday, April 28, 2012 graduation ceremony. High winds, rain and debris the night before caused the commencement stage to collapse, and the field where the ceremony was to take place was deemed hazardous.  Based upon the unexpected conditions, and in consideration for the safety of all graduates and guests, Saturday’s ceremony at the South Campus Athletics Complex was canceled and, instead, graduates were invited to the main campus at 400 N. Bluff Blvd., Clinton to walk across an indoor stage and receive their diplomas from Ashford University’s President and Provost.

Due to the disappointing cancelation of Saturday’s ceremony, Ashford University has prepared to accommodate, and has invited back, those who were scheduled to graduate today to walk in Sunday’s commencement exercises. Graduates may do so by simply following their Saturday instructions; no formal notification is needed.

Students are welcome to contact Ashford University at graduation.information@ashford.edu. Questions and concerns will be addressed as quickly as possible.
