Denver Employees Raise Money for Wildfire Relief
Ashford University, University of the Rockies and Bridgepoint Education employees raise more than $5,000 by "dressing down" at work

In an effort to help those affected by Colorado’s devastating wildfires, employees from Ashford University, Bridgepoint Education and neighboring University of the Rockies raised more than $5,100.00 over the past month by simply “dressing down.” The employees, all based in Denver, each paid $5.00 on a pair of Tuesdays to “dress down” at work. The money raised will be sent to the American Red Cross to aid fire victims.

“The fires have really had a devastating effect on our community and some of our employees and their families. This was just a chance to do a little something to give back to the community we serve,” said Mitch Thomas, vice president of Ashford University’s Denver Online Center.

Ashford’s parent company, Bridgepoint Education, last month donated $5,000.00 earmarked for Colorado wildfire relief. This past week, the Denver employees raised $2,850.00 in a single “dress down” day on July 3. That money will assist those affected by the Waldo Canyon Fire in Colorado Springs. From now until July 13, boxes have been placed around the Denver Online Center to collect food and other goods for those in need. Items will be delivered to the Colorado Springs area next week.
