Science Fair Seeks Educational Projects
Ashford University honors group plans annual science fair

The area’s young scientists are encouraged to showcase their educational projects at the fourth annual science fair sponsored by the Ashford University Mu Sigma Eta organization on Saturday, March 23.

Students in third through eighth grade will present their projects during the fair. In past years, there has been a wide range of exhibit topics including electricity, rocketry, animals and astronomy. Projects may be new ventures or ones that have been previously used in a class or at another science fair.

The day begins at 9 a.m. with participants setting up their projects in Ashford’s Ladd Science Building. Doors open to the public and judging begins at 10 a.m., followed by an awards ceremony at 11:45 a.m. There will be two divisions – grades 3-5 and grades 6-8 – with prizes awarded to the top entries in each division. All entries will receive a certificate of participation.

Early registration is encouraged and entry forms are available from Dr. Sarah Gall, Ashford University, 400 N. Bluff Blvd., Clinton, IA 52732, 563.242.4023, ext. 7829. Entry forms should be returned to Dr. Gall by March 11.

The public is invited to attend the science fair and there is no cost to attend or enter a project. Mu Sigma Eta is an honors group of math and science students at Ashford.
