Ashford University and San Jacinto Community College District Sign Articulation Agreement

Ashford University is pleased to announce its partnership with the San Jacinto Community College District in Harris County, Texas. Through the partnership, thousands of students at San Jacinto will be able to transfer into one of Ashford’s acclaimed bachelor’s programs.

Students in the school now have the ability to earn a bachelor’s degree while enjoying Ashford’s low tuition rate and a transfer policy which allows for the transfer of 90 community college credits.

“The San Jacinto Community College District has demonstrated a commitment to making higher education accessible, and that is the mission of our university,” said David Vande Pol, Senior Director of Academic Partnerships for Ashford University. “We are honored to partner with San Jacinto College and look forward to helping these students in Texas earn their bachelor’s degrees through Ashford.”

San Jacinto’s articulation agreement with Ashford University enables students, who opt to transfer, guaranteed admission and the ability to carry the credits they have already earned. The agreement is available to San Jacinto College students who graduate with any academic degree or certificate and opt to continue their education with Ashford online or at its Iowa campus.

“This is yet another outlet for our students to continue their education after San Jacinto College,” said Dr. Catherine O’Brien, Dean of Teaching and Learning at San Jacinto. “Students have the potential to complete up to 90 hours at any of our campuses, and transfer all of that to Ashford University.”  Students who earn an Associate of Arts (AA), an Associate of Science (AS) or an Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) will be recognized as having satisfied the first two years of coursework associated with Ashford University baccalaureate degree programs, and will not be required to repeat lower-division requirements at Ashford. All credits earned from San Jacinto College in all programs will be accepted and applied to the appropriate Ashford University degrees.

“We’re excited to provide baccalaureate-seeking San Jacinto students with this opportunity to earn their degrees through our partnership,” added Vande Pol. “This unique collaboration opens the door for many who have long wanted to obtain a bachelor’s degree in a convenient and cost-effective manner.”
