Ashford University and Grossmont College Sign Articulation Agreement

Ashford University is pleased to announce its latest partnership and articulation agreement with Grossmont College, located in El Cajon, California. Through the partnership, students at the community college will be able to transfer into one of Ashford’s acclaimed online bachelor’s programs.

The agreement is available to Grossmont College students who graduate with any academic degree or certificate. Students in the college may opt to earn a bachelor’s degree through Ashford, while enjoying the university’s low tuition rate and transfer policy which allows the transfer of 90 community college credits.

“We are honored to partner with a college of Grossmont’s stature, an institution that has demonstrated a commitment to making higher education accessible,” said David Vande Pol, Senior Director of Academic Partnerships for Ashford University. “As Ashford University’s first California articulation agreement, we look forward to our partnership with Grossmont College and to helping its students earn their bachelor’s degrees with us, whether on campus in Iowa, or from anywhere in the world as an online student.”

Grossmont’s partnership with Ashford University affords students, who opt to transfer, guaranteed admission and the ability to carry the credits they have already earned.

“We have entered into this articulation agreement with Ashford University in the spirit of cooperation and to mutually recognize each other as quality institutions of higher learning,” said Dr. Sunita Cooke, Grossmont College President. “Ashford is yet another outlet for our students to continue their education after Grossmont, and it’s an option that offers the added benefit of providing students with the ability to transfer a substantial number of their credits.”

All applicable credits earned from Grossmont College in all programs – up to 90 – will be accepted and applied to the appropriate Ashford University online or on-campus degrees. This includes all applicable credits from technical and vocational courses.

In addition, under the agreement, Grossmont College students transferring with an Associate of Arts degree, CSU GE certification, or IGETC certification will have fulfilled all General Education requirements at Ashford University.

“We’re excited to provide baccalaureate-seeking Grossmont College students with this opportunity to earn their degrees through our partnership,” added Vande Pol. “This unique collaboration opens the door for many who have long wanted to obtain a bachelor’s degree but could only do so in a cost-effective and convenient manner.”
