Communitywide Career Fair in the Works
Nearly 30 Businesses will be represented at the Ashford University Event

In an effort to help those individuals affected by the downturn in the economy, those ready to advance their careers, and even those who just want to explore new employment opportunities, Ashford University (AU) will bring nearly 30 businesses together for a Communitywide Career Fair scheduled for April 9, 2009 at the AU campus.  

“Career fairs are great places to learn about job openings, career changes, resources and networking,” said Stacy Powers, Career Development and Activities Coordinator at Ashford University. “Considering the challenges we are all facing due to the economy; we hope that all members of the community will come and take advantage of this great opportunity here at AU.” 

The career event will be held from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, April 9 in Ashford’s Durgin Educational Center, 400 N. Bluff Blvd., Clinton. Non-profit agencies and for-profit businesses will have employment information booths at the fair, refreshments will be served, and there will be giveaways throughout the day. 

Participants include the following organizations: AFLAC, Alverno, American Red Cross, Ashford Admissions, Ashford University ASPIRE, Ashford University Online, Avon, Clinton Police Department, Clinton Schools, Community Care, Custom-Pak, DM Services, Family Video, Hoff Resumes and Career Counseling, Iowa 80 Truckstop, Iowa Department of Public Safety, Kwik Trip, Inc., Manpower Staffing, Mary Kay, Mercy Medical Center, Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, New Directions, Northwestern Mutual, Ruhl and Ruhl, Skyline Center, St. Ambrose University, United States Army, Western Illinois University, WHBF-TV 4 and the Wild Rose Casino and Resort.
