Rubin Makes 15-Day Motorcycle Ride to Support Air Force Base Education Centers

Amy Rubin, an Ashford University military development specialist and military spouse, has logged more than 50,000 miles traveling the country on her BMW 1150 sport-touring motorcycle.

Her latest adventure was a 15-day tour aboard her chopper to eight Air Force Base Education Centers in five states.

It wasn't just a joy ride.  Rubin volunteered her time and resources to support higher education in the military.

A donation in the amount of $400, sponsored by Ashford University, was presented to education bases including Travis, Vandenberg and Beale in Calif.; Davis Monthan and Luke in Ariz.; Kirkland in N.M.; Sheppard in Texas; and Barksdale in La.  The contribution is for Community College Air Force Graduation or to be used toward tuition for a current Ashford University student stationed at the receiving station.

Ashford University provides education benefits to all qualified military personnel and their spouses.  The university's military grant also waives application and technology fees and pays for all books and applicable shipping costs for qualified military students.  In addition, Ashford University provides a specialized team of advisors who assist students with enrollment, academic and financial needs.
