Ashford University Donates Nearly $10,000 to United Way of Clinton

The holiday season is a time for giving, and Ashford University was in the holiday spirit when it recently donated nearly $10,000 to the United Way of Clinton.

“Ashford University has been a great partner and supporter of the United Way,” said Melissa Wiebenga, co-captain of the United Way’s professional division, in accepting the University’s check for $9,844.32. “They are able to come up with creative ways to raise funds and their team responds by giving generously year after year.”

Melissa Gabrielson, Ashford Human Resources Manager, helped coordinate this year’s campaign and explained that many different activities were held at the university to raise money for the United Way. These activities included a themed basket silent auction, Jimmy John’s box lunch, dress down day, Ashford Night at Manny’s, penny wars and the sale of United Way T-shirts.

“The Ashford University community always comes together to support the tremendous work that the United Way does in our area,” Gabrielson said. “It is a great organization that helps the community in so many ways. Ashford University is proud to support it.”
