An App for All Students: Ashford University Releases Ashford Mobile, an iPhone App for Class and Coursework
Ashford Mobile offers expansive campus connectivity to Ashford students

SAN DIEGO, June 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Ashford University, an academic institution owned by Bridgepoint Education (NYSE: BPI), has just introduced Ashford Mobile, its newest classroom application for the iPhone.

Ashford Mobile is a free download – available at Apple's App Store – that enables students to participate in their courses remotely, interacting with instructors and posting to discussions and topic threads using their smart phones. Students can also contact Ashford staff for help with an array of services, and get up-to-date Ashford University news and alerts.

"Ashford Mobile is our latest step in an ongoing effort to provide a best-in-class student experience," stated Dr. Elizabeth Tice, president of Ashford University. "The app gives Ashford University students one more venue for staying engaged with the classroom and the university, no matter where they are. I'm proud we are creating an educational experience that's integrated with how our students are already connecting with friends and colleagues, as well as consuming and sharing information."

More than 95 percent of Ashford University students rate themselves as being proficient with mobile technology, and more than 30 percent use an iPhone or other Apple-based mobile device.  Ashford Mobile for alternate devices will soon be made available to support the platforms Ashford students use most.
