Ashford University to Present Steve Martin Play
'Picasso at the Lapin Agile' play comes to Ashford University stage

“Picasso at the Lapin Agile,” a play written by comedian Steve Martin, will come to the Ashford University stage on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mullany Theater.  

The play is set in a bar in 1904 Paris where young Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein argue about physics and art as they try to impress a pretty girl. They are joined by “The Visitor,” a man from the future – could it be Elvis Presley?

Alyssa Oltmanns, Ashford testing and tutoring coordinator, will direct the play. Cast members include Sarah Mae Bauer, Sterling, IL; Chhutani Berry, Chicago, IL; Samantha Cameron, Sterling, IL; Chase Cartwright-LaMoille, IL; Amber Elkins, Clinton, IA; Ben Headlee, Elizabeth, IL; Michelle Harris, Clinton, IA; Matt Jacobsen, Goose Lake, IA; Ryne Nielsen, Rock Falls, IL; Nic Palmeri, Stillman Valley, IL; Kalley Rivera, Schaumburg, IL; James Shamp, Mount Carroll, IL and Josh Wehde, Clinton, IA.

The stage crew consists of: Lindsay Aiello, Liz Davis, Phil Davis and Aubey Guernsey, all of Sterling, IL.

The public is invited to attend. Admission is free for Ashford students and staff (by showing a valid Ashford ID card) and $3.00 for all others.
