Ashford University announced today it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sophia Learning, a national provider of self-paced, online college courses. This partnership recognizes specific Sophia courses evaluated by The American Council on Education (ACE) for transfer into Ashford’s undergraduate degree programs.

“Ashford University’s partnership with Sophia Learning will help students complete their degrees more quickly and affordably,” said Katie Scheie, vice president, university registrar for Ashford University. “Students are able to access their Sophia courses from any device and are able to complete general education credit at their own pace. This is totally in line with Ashford’s focus on supporting non-traditional ways of learning.”

As part of the partnership, Ashford students are able to enroll in the Sophia Learning courses titled “Developing Effective Teams” and “Foundations of Statistics.” In addition, students pay a flat fee for each course with no additional subscription or course material fees.
