More than 30 academics from Ashford University will present at the 2014 Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Academic Resource Conference (ARC) taking place April 23-25 at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles, Calif.
Throughout the WASC Conference, Ashford University cabinet members, staff, and faculty will be involved with presentations covering a wide variety of topics, including student success in online environments, engaging online faculty, determining course and program effectiveness, improving online learning, and program review.
“Ashford’s significant presence at the WASC Academic Resource Conference demonstrates just how much our University is being recognized as an institution that has a great deal of insight to share about online learning, adult learning, and assessment,” said Dr. Richard Pattenaude, Ashford University president and chief executive officer.
Dr. Pattenaude will join Ashford provost, Dr. Lorraine Williams, as well as Bridgepoint Education’s vice president of accreditation relations and policy, Dr. Joseph Hoey, to deliver a presentation on enhancing institutional quality in the proprietary sector by listening, reflecting, and communicating. During the presentation, they will discuss channels institutions might use to scan the environment and gain insight into public perceptions and how best to respond.
The 2014 WASC Academic Resource Conference is meant to focus on outsider perspectives, what higher education can learn from them, and ways to adapt current practices to respond to regional and national needs. The WASC ARC is dedicated to supporting institutions as they identify their challenges, develop solutions, demonstrate results, and plan for the future.
